Handmade Ponchos Never Go Out of Style - Crochet Pattern Included

Handmade and Cozy Ponchos Never Go Out of Style

I don’t know. I could be wrong but I don’t think ponchos ever go out of style. Especially for little girls.

I remember wearing a poncho when I was a kid. For me, it was the fringe that made it fabulous.

And my daughters loved the ponchos that I made for them - in their favorite colors of course.

Now, one of my granddaughters has a poncho and the other two really want one.

Granny Square Layout

You will need:
  • Three shades of your favorite color - a dark, medium and light tone.
  • Crochet Hook – size 3.5mm

Make:
  • 8 Daisy Granny Squares in Dark Purple.
  • 16 Daisy Granny Squares in Medium Purple
  • 24 Daisy Granny Squares in Light Purple

Once you have completed all your squares, you can begin to join them as shown in the diagram below.

The next step is to add a border. I used the traditional Granny Square Stitch in light purple.

Now add the fringe in light purple.

Lastly, I added two rows of single stitches to the neck opening. If you find the opening too big, you can always add more rows.
